North Georgia Family Photography
Disclaimer: This photo sesh was unlike any other family photography session (or any session for that matter). Not only did we have to battle the pouring rain, humidity, and wrangling the kiddos... there was a group of prom kids at Campbells Covered Bridge with their parents and they just all happened to be thee perfect photo bombers, ever! But, it was my only evening in Greenville, SC and we had to make it work. We squeezed our way into a little corner of the bridge and used some umbrellas towards the end and somehow, by the grace of God, I managed to snap a few adorable shots of this family.
My Hoffman's are very dear to me. I've photographed them since 2007ish. I photographed Tiffany's maternity sessions with little Abi and Eli, I did their newborn photography, and a few family sessions over the years. Side by side comparison not only shows how much they've grown but also my photography. Holy cow! I almost didn't post this... but after a long, deep breath I said what the heck and went for it.
And... here's little Abi, Ami and Eli in previous sessions.... omg their cheeks!!
Jamie & Taylor + 1 | North Georgia Maternity Photographer
I don't think anything is more beautiful than the look a man gives to his lady when she's carrying their child. These two were absolutely in love and so stinkin' cute together. Everything from their cute jokes with each other to the shirt Taylor brought out at the end of the session... loved it! Maternity photography is such a powerful session and there's so many emotions and aspects to cover. Jamie and Taylor made it easy for me to not only showcase her perfect baby bump, but to show their love for each other and excitement for little Lilly who will be making her debut into the world in June. I can't wait to meet her and do the newborn pictures!!
This was my first (warm)outdoor session since moving to Cumming, Georgia and it was actually my first visit to Lake Lanier. Because we moved to the area in fall we haven't made it out there, but it was a beautiful location in North Georgia with a gorgeous lake and mountain view. Forsyth County has so many incredible locations to photograph at, I am more than excited to start exploring (now that everything is green again!) and find some perfect spots for upcoming sessions. I admit I haven't posted much on the blog lately, but my facebook business page has more to look at. Head over there by clicking here!
Now, to the photos!

Limited Edition Holiday Sessions | Cumming GA Photographer
You asked for it and now I'm giving it! I'm adding November 21st as my FINAL date of 2015 that I'll be offering my limited edition holiday sessions. In previous years I've had fun themes that my clients went cray cray over, this year... the theme... well let's just say that there will be hot cocoa and candy involved. I'm planning such a cute set up to make these sessions truly unique and holiday themed that you will want to stay on set with me all day! But remember, spaces and time slots are limited so make sure you sign up now (by clicking that big obnoxious red button up top) and get in before it's too late!
With that said, it's time to start planning your Holiday session! I know you must be like "Ohhh, no! It's almost the end of the year!" but have no fear because an awesome perk to doing your limited edition session is that your Christmas outfits will be picked out, the family pictures photographed, holiday cards designed, and gift prints all delivered by December 5th. That's what I'm talking about! Cross a few gifts off your list by gifting the prints from your session because what grandma and grandpa don't LOVE pictures of their amazing grandchildren?!
Picture your kids and family in the middle of a beautiful park, with the leaves changing and the cool winter air coming through. Now, add some hot cocoa and candy to the mix and it doesn't get much better than that! Dress up in your Christmas outfits or come in your Christmas morning PJ's because this years theme is going to put you into cuteness overload. The session will take place in Cumming Ga close to Vickery Creek. I'm expecting such a great turn out that I've already had family Christmas pictures done, cards ordered and they're all addressed and ready to go (picture below) so that I can concentrate on getting your upcoming orders to you with plenty of time to spare before Christmas! *Edit: Peaks of the set added below!*
Start out your holiday season with cards ready to go out and gifts for family and friends ready to be wrapped and put under your tree. I'm offering three packages with this session, all include 25 custom holiday cards with envelopes, gift prints, and an awesome digital slideshow to share online. The higher level packages include digital files with print release and mini albums (another awesome gift to give grandma and grandpa). I will be releasing all the details, including time slots, packages, prices, location, etc this week. This information will be sent out exclusively to those who are signed up for my email list and if there are any additional spaces available (which I can't guarantee) I will post to my facebook fan page. In addition to all this greatness, I will be offering clients who participate a free 8x10 print for each booked referral on this day as well. If you know a lot of people and love to share awesome news, this is your chance to cash in on it!
So, before you go make sure you connect with me by signing up for the email list and liking my fan page.
A glimpse of what to expect to see on November 21st!
Miss T: Classy Boudoir | Cumming GA Boudoir Photographer
This lady right here is the reason I love boudoir photography so much. She is your typical mom that is too busy to spend time on herself and a bit of a tom-boy so hair & make up seems like a foreign language to her. I had the pleasure of doing her make up, hair and boudoir session this past week and before she even saw the final pictures she told me how comfortable she was during the session and that she felt confident and pretty throughout the hour we spent shooting. This... this is why I do boudoir. To transform a mom next door into a knock out capable of dropping jaws at any run way event... is what makes me love not only photography but this specific session type. And it's not about the make up, the lighting, the angles... it's about the experience itself providing an already beautiful person with the confidence to feel as gorgeous as she truly is.
Okay, okay, enough preaching. On to the peaks!
Happy Halloween | Cumming Ga Photographer
It's Halloween! This excites me, for reasons I will never figure out. Maybe it's because it's the one night of the year that you get a hall pass to look however you want to. Sexy, scary, new career, alter ego? I love make up and wish I knew more techniques and had the chance to play on more faces, so when my hunk's sister booked her ticket to visit us this weekend I knew I was going to turn her from the tom-boy that she is, into one hot momma for halloween! For someone who never wears make up, Halloween is thee perfect night to try something new and no one can say you're "over the top" because that's the point! I did Tammy's hair, make up, and made the head piece for her flapper costume. Here's a few of her and one of Chris and I, we went with nerd and teacher (I love bow ties, this was my way of getting him to wear one in public!).
This was completely an impromptu photography session at our house, luckily these awesome crimson curtains were the perfect backdrop of her pictures! I convinced you to wear make up Tammy, next is a boudoir session! Confidence building 101...
Family Photography | North Georgia Photographer
I took a trip down to Florida this past weekend and snapped a few pictures of my friend Tammy and her three youngest kiddos. It's funny how young boys and teenage boys are totally cool with picture time, but its the 10-12 year old (give or take) that doesn't want them! My son, who will be 12 in April, went from being my little guinea pig in front of the lens to not wanting pictures taken at all. Tammy's middle boy was the same way and so many other sessions with this age are too! But it's okay, because momma gets what momma wants and we moms just make them do it anyways!
My little man and I flew into Atlanta yesterday and we're back home in Cumming now and back to the grind. This weekend is halloween, which happens to be my favorite "holiday" -- I can't wait to play dress up, do a few more family photography and a boudoir session and enjoy the weekend back at home with the family.
Here are a few peaks from the session and these adorable little men. (Don't tell the oldest I called him adorable... he's in the age where he wants to be "hot" or "handsome" )
Exploring Georgia | Roswell Mill
There are so many beautiful places to explore near our new home. As a photographer, Georgia is ideal. We recently went to Montaluce Vinyard and did some wine tasting. I have never tried a wine I liked, but I'm always open to new things. Since the boy-toy likes wine, I figured it would be fun. The wine was yummy and it was absolutely beautiful inside and outside. We will be back soon and I'll take some shots (not on my iPhone).
We also checked out the Old Roswell Mill, in Roswell Georgia. The website said this was a popular place for photographers and hikers... the website was spot on. There were at least 5 photography sessions going on but everyone was super professional and gave each other time to get their shots in. We got a few shots in of my little man and even got him to take one of us that turned out good. This space is an ideal location to shoot engagement sessions, family portraits, and anything in between. I defiantly want to do a full session here, but also want to get back there to hike the trails! Explore Georgia is an awesome website, check it out! Little dude snapped this shot of us, go Gavin go!
And this out take.. sometimes out takes are the best! My big helper making my little helper smile for the camera.
Pumpkin Patch Fun | North Georgia Photographer
One phrase: BIGGEST PUMPKINS EVER! I swear, I've never seen pumpkins this big in my life. They had big, small, round, flat, warts, smooth, orange, white, green, even a light pink. There were way too many options to pick from. Aside from the pumpkins, Burts Farm had a country store with the cutest nicknacks, home made jellies, breads, pies, nom nom nom! They also had fresh lemonade, made to order funnel cakes, home decor for the holidays and a fun 2 mile hayride through the property. We got to see where the pumpkin are grown, drove through the flower fields, a covered bridge, and so much more. I'm not much of a landscape photographer, but I'm all about the detail shots and anyone who is having a wedding this fall looking for cool decor, check this place out! I won't spoil it for you... just go and see it for yourself! Here's a few snaps from the day, our final picks are at the end...
Paleo Pumpkin Protein Muffins
I love cooking and the only thing better than cooking is YUMMY HEALTHY cooking! These paleo pumpkin protein muffins are so delish, that even your kids won't know they're packed with protein and vitamins. I'm not a food blogger (I'll stick to photography) and I didn't take step by step pictures of this recipe, but here's the finished product and I'll give you the recipe to go with it. Since I love cooking you will (from time to time) see different recipes on my blog that I feel are worth sharing. This one is FOR SURE worth sharing. It's October, what else could you ask for? Pumpkin, warm, comforting, and healthy all in one little muffin. Make sure you sign up for my newsletter, which also features recipes, fashion tips, and posing advice. Click here to stay in the loop...
Ingredients:
1 cup almond flour (I've read articles on the different brands and by research and trial & error I've found honeyville is the best to cook with)
1/2 cup coconut flour
2 scoops of vanilla protein powder (I use Muscle Milk because I like the taste.)
1 TSP baking soda
1 TSP Pumpkin Pie spice
1/2 TSP Cinnamon
A few dashes of ground ginger
1/4 TSP sea salt
1 cup canned pumpkin puree
3.5 TBSP melted coconut oil
2 TSP vanilla extract
1/4 cup of honey
3 eggs, beaten
chopped pecans
How to:
Heat the oven to 350 degrees and either grease a muffin pan or use cups. (I ran out of cups, so I did both) This recipe makes 12 muffins
In a medium mixing bowl, mix the dry ingredients.
Add the wet ingredients to the same bowl, until combined.
Spoon into the muffin pan (these muffins will not rise much so fill each spot about 3/4 of the way).
Sprinkle the chopped pecans and more pumpkin spice on top.
Cook for 20-25 minutes. I used a fork at 20 minutes to test it and it came out dry, so I removed them from the oven.
Nom Nom! Enjoy! I'd love to hear how this recipe worked out for you.
Follow me on facebook and instagram. I'd love to share my photography, fashion and posing advise with you!
