Matt + Lisa:: Engaged! {City Place, WPB}

Tonight is the last night we're in Florida, for now.  After rain and thunder all day we were afraid we'd have to cancel Matt and Lisa's e-session.  But, the skies turned blue and we set out to photograph one last couple.  My favorite from the shoot is Matt playing golf while Lisa sun bathes.  That picture says a thousand words, each of them were doing something they loved and we captured it in one shot.  We stayed to play on the golf course for a few extra shots and raced to City Place in West Palm Beach to finish the session off before the we lost the sun.

Danny + Amy:: Engaged! {Atlantic Ave}

Tonight we met with a wonderful couple, Danny & Amy.  They've recently become engaged while on a trip to Orlando, Florida.  They're such a beautiful couple; you can feel the love they have for each other by just being around them.

We started the session on train tracks and after a quick outfit change we headed downtown Delray Beach to Atlantic Ave, one of their favorite places to hang out.  Eric and I could have, and would have, shot Danny & Amy all night if the sun would have stayed up.  There are so many great locations and unique ideas we had to put on hold for now, but we also got a lot of great shots tonight.  (We even took a short break for a few skating shots :) ) Danny and Amy congratulations on your engagement and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey.  You compliment each other well and it's nice to see Danny so happy ;)

Now it's time for the sneak peaks!

Florida: T-minus 20 hours

The count down starts!  The gear is packed, the batteries charged, my new and amazing camera is fabulous and ready to shoot.  Oh yeah, the clothes are packed too.

I am so excited to come home this weekend and we have a LOT planned starting with a funky / grunge session tomorrow night right after we arrive.  Brook & Mikes wedding will take up  Saturday and I can't wait to see what you all have planned!  Sunday we're hanging out with lil Evan and his hot momma Melinda for a kiddie lifestyle session followed by an E-session with a wonderful couple, Danny & Amy.  They are so much fun & artistic.  I have some fun ideas planned for this shoot.  Monday is the last day we will shoot in Florida.  We are starting with a newborn session; lil Miss Rylee made her debut into this world just a few weeks ago!  Later that evening is another E-session:  Matt & Lisa.  You all remember a few weeks ago when we traveled to the Bahama's and I shot Matt, my brother, proposing to his girlfriend?  It's time for their E-session!

So many fun sessions and ideas are brewing in my head that I begin to forget I have a new camera to play with. No, not really.  The camera is amazing, how could I forget?  It is my new best friend and my only true love.  (That's a little much, I know..)

I hope to at least post some sneak peaks on the blog and FB at the end of each night but we are going to have a TON of images to sift through and post - so this time it may take a few extra days.  (If my OCD will allow it)

We'll that's it for now!  I hope everyone has a great weekend and the rain stays away!

Testing: 24-70mm f/2.8

Before meeting Alex for dinner tonight, Gavin and I met her in Greer at the Veterans Memorial Park to test out the new lens.  I have to admit, I like the lens but not for what I was looking to do tonight.  So back to the ol' 50 mm for the shoot and here are some images.  Alex and I will, one day, arrange enough time to do an actual shoot.  Todays only lasted 15 mins & we were some hungry girls!

I did manage to take some great pictures of the park, which I will post later.  Check back in a few days for those and for pictures of tomorrows wedding in Charlotte, NC.

Good night!

TheKnot.com

After 6 months of advertising with TheKnot.com I have made the decision to cancel my account.  The weddings that I have booked have not been from The Knot and while I think the concept behind the web site is fantastic, I just don't feel that right now it is a place I should advertise.  Word of mouth and other free advertising opportunities have sent more business my way.  However, for those who have contacted us already I will continue to offer the 15% discount for being a knot member.

Thanks!

Florida Trip #4

June 11-15 Eric Mack and I will be in Florida to photograph a wedding.  We are offering sessions to those interested so please contact me to schedule time with us.  Time is limited due to wedding and travel so book now before we book up!

There are certain images WE are looking for and offering discounts to those interested in shooting the following:

Trash the dress (Prom dress, brides maid dress, wedding gown, etc)

Boudoir with a twist (Outdoor and indoor... you'd be surprised what we can come up with)

Grunge/Rock (For those willing to do something a little less ordinary)

Maternity & Newborn (Still offering our fabulous special!)

Bachelor & Bachelorette Auction

Last night was such a success.  We started off bad and had to push the time back but I am glad we did!  We were competing with Downtown Alive and the Greenville Drive game but come 8:30 people started showing up and the auction started!  Huge thanks to Frampton for setting up everything at Wild Wing Cafe Greenville, he even hooked us up by getting us on the Downtown Alive stage to give the crowd some info on the event and last nights auction.  Blake the DJ, you were so much fun.  Dino from B93.7 thanks for giving us all the goodies to add to our auction packages, Dino and Blake really kept the crowd going ... many laughs were had by all.  Thank you to Jessica (or Jennifer? .... kidding) from WSPA for coming out to interview me (Eekkk!!!) and help spread the word about Portraits for Heroes.  Thank you to Eric and Sarah for setting up a photo area and helping us to remember this event for years to come.  And... last by not least... thank you to all the people who showed up.  We were so lucky to have a great group of people on the stage being bid on, they made it easy for us!!  If you weren't there, you missed out!  To our highest bidders (they got the tag team Mallorie and Ashley) here's a picture to remember the night.  And thank you to all those bidding, whether you won or not your support did not go unnoticed.

Update: Wedding Packages

July 1, 2010 I will introduce our new wedding packages.  Any weddings signed prior to that date will have the option to use our current packages.

The packages will continue to include our amazing Dream Albums & Dream Boxes.  These products are just too perfect to give up!  We are also adding a destination package for all you travelers.  I'm 100% positive  this will be a welcomed change and I am looking forward to posting all the details! ( Oh yeah, new packages means new brochures!  Fun, flirty and of course fabulous! )

One more development:  Eric Mack is now my primary second shooter.  His style + my style = harmony and there's no reason to mess with harmony, right?  :) Our work flow and ideas work well together.  In the event that he is already booked I have several wonderful photographers to call upon.

Stay tuned!

A little bit of this … A little bit of that …

My last two trips to Florida were selfish and I didn't do any sessions(But, we're allowed to be selfish sometimes... right?)!  I am planning a trip back down from May 21 to May 25 and I already have two lined up.  I will come fully prepared with lighting equipment for indoor shoots because we all know and love Florida's predictable weather! (Not) .... Book now or wait because this will be the last trip down there for a while. (Three trips in two months?  Seriously? .... I'm so lucky! )

EMP and I are collaborating for some crazy, insane newborn sessions.  My session yesterday inspired me to go after newborns and we've come up with some great ideas, props and prices!  Contact me to find out about the promotion.  We'd like to have newborns under 4 weeks but we're not too picky!

On another note, the charity bachelor & bachelorette auction scheduled for May 20th is lacking support.  We have two participants but we were shooting for 15!  I have talked to several people who have been interested but not registered (you know who you are!) So get on it and help us raise funds for our local heroes and their families!  If this event gets canceled there is a STRONG (very strong) possibility the event itself in September will also be canceled.  That will make it two years in a row that have fallen through due to lack of community support.  Please take a moment to go to the web site and read about the event and spread the word to all your friends and family.  www.portraitsforheroes.com and you can register to be in the auction at : http://portraitsforheroes.com/?page_id=96

And finally, I have to thank everyone for the lovely comments and compliments.  Word of mouth has been my best advertisement and I am so blessed and thankful for my clients, friends and family for helping me get this show on the road! <3 You all!
