Palm Beach Maternity Photographer | Allyson + David {Awaiting Baby}
So I got an email from a lovely lady asking about maternity pictures, she booked me and after she found me on facebook I realized we went to middle school together. Dumb me.... she knew this the whole time but I was pretty stoked that she found me!
Allyson and David are high school lovers, they married, and are expecting their first baby in a few short months. David has been riding BMX for over 15 years so we took this session to the track, literally. :) We were able to get the Okeeheelee BMX track all to ourselves and then moved to the other side of the lake for a few more shots before the rain rolled in.
Allyson and David purchased my belly to baby duo so be on the look out for little David's arrival. Until then, check out the sneak peaks!!
Palm Beach Photographer | What's the difference?
A few of the most common questions I get are:
- Do you use flash?
- Do you airbrush?
- How much editing do you do?
- How long does it take to get my pictures?
Delray Beach FL Wedding Photographer | Mimi + Josue {Engaged}
Mimi was referred to me, through the wonderful word of mouth system. Their wedding is 11/11/11 here in Palm Beach County and it's going to be a fun wedding, for sure. This couple is super laid back, easy to get along with, and most important - so in l.o.v.e. I caught so many candid shots of Josue pushing Mimi's hair out of her face, or staring into her eyes. Sounds corny, but I swear it wasn't! They're so sweet together. We chose to photograph their session in the Morikami Gardens in Delray Beach. Such a beautiful place, peaceful, and full of color. We didn't make it far into the gardens because the heat was kickin' our tails, but we did get some great shots of them being in love :)
We went with a Chic/Geek theme which I thought was perfect because Josue is a gamer and into comic books and Mimi loves her geek! So after a few fun themed shots we moved on to the more romantic, typical e-session shots. I think they rocked it, they looked hot and of course in love! Oh and her lashes, for real... I pay $5.99 a set to get lashes like that! So jealous....
Captiva Island Photographer | Sanibel/Captiva Sunset
Two of my favorites and I headed west for the weekend, to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. We stayed on Ft Myers Island in a great resort that was right on the beach, had an awesome Tiki bar, and a very relaxing feel. Saturday we made the short drive to Sanibel and Captiva Islands for the sunset and it was worth it. So beautiful! I would love to extend my wedding photography services to destination weddings at all three islands, I saw some amazing spots that a beautiful bride would look amazing in front of.
Here's a sunset picture I took....I shot on the low side of the exposure scale just to get all the beautiful low lights of the sky. I've never watched the sun set on the west coast before, and I will for sure do it again. There were about 40 people on the beach and as it set everyone got quiet and just watched the beauty. I loved it :)
Not that I have any qualification to review/critique local attractions but here's what the three of us felt:
Outrigger Beach Resort: very friendly staff, beautiful water front location, slightly older style but fit in with the rest of the island.
Zushi Zushi: A sushi restaurant on the "strip" and delicious. Even my friend who doesn't like sushi found something she could eat there. We actually wen't twice while there.
Alligators Tails & Ales: A sports bar with amazing burgers that we hit up after our trip to Sanibel. Yummy!
Great trip, next time we'll stay longer!

Greenville Family Photographer | The Gang's All Here
Well, I'm sad to say it but this was my last photo shoot in Greenville until September. Between packing breaks I snuck away with some great folks for their family portraits. Christan headed up my fundraiser a few months ago and I am forever grateful to her and the others who helped. They are a wonderful group and taking a few photographs is the least I can do to show my thanks.
I met Christan, Justin, Samantha, Hailey, and lil Reece this evening in downtown Greer. OMG it was SO hot. The three kids were insanely well behaved, kudos to mom for that. I think they were the best behaved I've ever photographed. We shot for about 45 min's before the sweat started showing up and the bugs were flying around. Poor Reece, I have a funny shot of him trying to swat the bugs away and he was getting so aggravated! I'll save that for the end of this post, it's great haha.
I'm glad I could set aside some time for these guys, and I'm happy I could repay Christans kindness with a few images that she can love and cherish for ever <3
And here's my funny one of Reece!!!

Palm Beach Photographer | Promotional Pictures of yours truly ....
Gahhhh!!! So cliche, but I HATE having my picture taken. I can pose you, no matter what body type or features you're rockin' but I can NOT pose myself. /sigh. Okay, now that I had my tantrum.
Along with the new branding I am also getting all new material printed and I've included a section about me. First, I'm horrible at writing about myself. Second, I'm horrible at getting my picture taken. So I asked my darling friend Eric to photograph me today. Eric taught me a lot about photography and now he's a *retired* photographer so I was stoked when he agreed to do this for me. I wanted to kill two birds with one stone so I figured I would bring my mini man along and get some pictures of us together. I've never had professional pictures taken of us together. HYPOCRIT! Yes, I know. I guess I'm so critical of myself because I do this professionally.
Anyway, we battled with drive-bys, wind, wanting to do sun flares, and the heat. Oh and we fed a stray kitten. But I'm happy with the outcome. But just for the record, if you ever go to Forest City.... don't dress like me. You'll get weird looks.
PS- If you've followed me on Facebook you know I am now offering a discount to tattooed/modified brides. I am tattooed, so I can get away with profiling! And I think women who are tattooed are beautiful. The weddings of modified couples are always a TON of fun, which adds to my reason to wanting to build my portfolio with expressive and unique individuals. Email me about the details if you're interested.
PPS- I'm setting up a day for a mini pin-up marathon. I use the term pin-up loosely. I'm not setting up the typical sets. It's going to be hot rods, hot chics (inked preferably), and hot outfits. This will not be a boudoir/pin up type session. I'm working on finding a make up artist who can do pin-up styles. Email me for details and to put your name on the list. Slots are on a first come first serve basis.
So on to the photos! (Hair & Make up by Katie Cotton, Photography by Eric Mack, Lighting by Eric + Gavin, Editing by Me.)
And heres some of my crew! LOL
My FAILED attempt at a sun flare!

Palm Beach Photographer | New Material
A few days ago I got this crazy idea that I should rebrand. I say crazy because I literally JUST rebranded back in November. I liked it at first, but I didn't feel like it went well with my personality or my style of shooting. As I previously blogged about, I am relocating to Palm Beach next month and I felt that this would be a perfect time to change the look of everything. I figured, I have to reorder everything to update the address and phone number so why not do it all!
I designed my logo and after enlisting in the help of a few good friends, we went with the color scheme and logo version you're seeing now! Green and purple, dots and lines, and some sort of splotchy thing. I feel like its fun, fresh, clean, modern, and definitely more my style!
Because I'm on a short time frame, with the move approaching in 19 days, I purchased a marketing kit from Go4ProPhotos that included all the templates you see below. I spent the entire day plugging in my information, new colors & logo, and creating a kit for weddings and one for portraits. Although it's a lot of polka dots, I really like it! I can't wait to get it all printed and put together hard copies of my welcome kits.... and I can't wait to hear what everyone else thinks of it. So let 'er rip! I want to know the good, bad, and the ugly!
