Lets Meet Karen…
I am a mommy to a 2 year old boy, born and raised in Honduras. I grew up in a very poor family, no tv, no electricity, no real bed and with an outhouse that was about 50meters from the actual house. Lol!!! When I was 13 I got my residency in the USA through my father. I remember I’ve always thought I was fat and felt shame in my body. Looking back now, I don’t know what I was thinking! At the age of 18 I joined the Army, at 23 I got married, during those married years my already undervalued self worth went rock bottom. I remember blaming myself for the way I wad treated, “I wasn’t pretty enough, I am not fun and overall not good enough” I felt I deserved to be hit and even the most inadequate woman on the planet. 2 years after my divorce, I am still struggling with those demons but I’ve come a long way! I’ve have found passion in exercise! I’ve learned to view myself positively, even though I still have a lot of work to do. I want to empower women through my transformation. As it stands I have lost 40 lbs and huge amount of body fat! Before I started to lose weight, I made a conscious choice to notice the beautiful things about me, and that has helped me get this far!!!
Finding beauty in our flaws. Fighting through battles, finding or keeping the courage to improve one’s self worth. When you start to love yourself you begin to see yourself in a different light, suddenly you feel more beautiful and worthy. But you were always beautiful, you just need to find ways to make those the highlights in your life.
