Cotton Rouge & Co/Cotton Rouge Photo, Staci Gibbs Make up and Mirrored Images Boudoir are teaming up.  Together we have created a vision that I would love to share with you.

I am a full time nurse, I work in an emergency department for a local hospital and I am frequently caring for patients who are suffering from cancer.  Katie and I, as boudoir photographers, seek to empower women to accept and love themselves and we strive to help them embrace who they are inside and out.  With October (breast cancer awareness month) quickly approaching, we want to contribute to the celebration of life and survival of those who are currently fighting or have conquered breast cancer.  Our vision is to invite 10-20 women into Katies studio for a photography session with us in October.  We intend to show off the bravery, strength and courage of women who participate.  There is no fee for the women, all artists are volunteering their time and talent to this cause.  They will be provided with professional hair and make up (from Cotton Rouge & Co and freelance artist Staci Gibbs from Atlanta) as well as digital files from the shoot.  We will do mainly group shots but also quick 5-10 min shoot with each woman alone.  We will also have a professional taking behind the scenes clips for a video.

We have already started to receive interest from women in the area and know that this could benefit well over 20 women, we would like to hear their survival story and then begin the daunting task of narrowing the participants.  Please know that we will include as many woman as humanly possible, even if that number is over 20.

Detail breakdown:
Where: Cotton Rouge & Co Studio: 250 Mill St, Taylors SC 29687
When: October 18th  starting at 10am
What: As described above we are providing professional make up and hair, as well as a photo session (group and individual) to survivors and fighters of this disease.  Participants must be willing to sign a model release (allows all artists who have volunteered their time to publish/post images and share this incredible experience with others), must be 18+ years old, be willing to travel to Taylors SC for a ONE DAY ONLY event.

See our Pinterest board for a better idea of the looks we’re planning.  Participants will be offered three options: mesh body suit with rhinestones, pasties with rhinestones, or body paint/glitter with rhinestones… and I am SO proud to say the brave women we have on board so far have ALL chosen body paint/glitter — how incredible are they?!

There are NO FEE’S for participants.  We must be able to verify that you truly are a survivor or current fighter of breast cancer.  We want to provide a day of fun and celebration to these women, a day they will remember and cherish for many years.  Help us celebrate YOU.
